Rajkumar Hirani’s Sanju trailer will be dropped on May 30 and the filmmaker has promised us that he will release the look of every actor till then. Today, he posted a still from a movie which showcases the crazy lover boy side of the actor and it has Sonam Kapoor as his girlfriend from his early days. Sanju portrays an incredible story of Sanjay Dutt which his closed ones claim is stranger than fiction. Well, Sonam’s role in the movie was touted to be similar to Tina Munim or Madhuri Dixit’s real life characters. On being asked about the same, she has revealed that she has a small but important part in the movie and she is not playing an actress. Well, while the makers keep the suspense on about Sonam’s character we could not help but get major Neerja feels when we saw this still.

One look at Sonam’s retro look and we are transported back to her 2016 release, Neerja. With a similar hair do and that charming smile, she gave us strong déjà vu feels which has piqued our interest to see her as a lady love to young Sanjay Dutt. She will romance Ranbir on screen after their debut film and it is a perfect cast, we must say! Since there is some history there and masses would surely lap their Jodi up once more. Sonam Kapoor, Kareena Kapoor Khan, Swara Bhasker, Shikha Talsania are coming up with an all-girls madcap film, Veere Di Wedding, directed by Shashanka Ghosh and produced by Rhea and Ekta Kapoor. The buzz around the movie is super positive and everything from the trailer, music to the first rushes of the film has had masses talking about this project. Also, this film is supposed to be Kareena’s comeback vehicle after maternity break and therefore the entire hullabaloo about it is sort of justified. The film has a coming of age plot and features four friends and their lives. All four women are going all out promoting the movie. At the recent promotional event, they were asked if the movie was made with four men who would they cast in it. Okay so the names that popped were Ranbir Kapoor, Ranveer Singh, Arjun Kapoor and Abhay Deol among others. But you should know the comments the two Kapoor girls gave while they said that they wanted to cast Ranbir.

While Sonam’s first choice to play Kareena’s character was Hrithik, Bebo replied that Ranbir Kapoor would essay her role. Sonam’s report to this was mind-blowing. She said, “Ranbir? Haan, for sure! He’ll be running.” Is she hinting at the Kapoor scion’s Casanova real life image? Whoa, we sure wanted to hear what the Sanju star wants to say about this. Also, we know there is some history between Sonam and Ranbir so we are not even surprised that she said this.

Veere Di Wedding is all set to hit screens on June 1 and we already are getting all pumped up with excitement to watch this zangy, spirited movie about four women who are coming of age. It stars Kareena Kapoor Khan and Sonam Kapoor in pivotal roles are joined by Shikha Talsania and Swara Bhasker. The four ladies are running from pillar to post promoting their film and making sure that its message is reaching to its masses and are addressing issues like pay disparity to the fact that there are such less movies made for women, by women. As pointed out by them, this is the only movie made in the history of Indian Cinema where the main protagonists are four women and they are not falling for a common man. As the Veere girls are going all guns blazing promoting their movie, it would be interesting to map their journeys from childhood to know.
